Janine is director and lead clinician at Connected Minds. She is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist (C.Psychol. PsSI.) who is passionate about helping her clients to achieve emotional, psychological and relational wellbeing, through the process of therapeutic connection.

 

She is also committed to assisting individuals and organisations to thrive and fulfil their potential, using her knowledge of the human psyche and her skills at facilitating growth and change.

ABOUT JANINE

Janine is a Clinical Psychologist and Yoga teacher, with a Masters degree in Sport & Exercise Psychology. She completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Limerick under the sponsorship of HSE Mid-West. Janine has worked in a number of HSE and community settings with people experiencing mental health problems, intellectual disability and physical health conditions. This includes work with children, adults and older adults. Most recently, she worked as Clinical Psychologist in the South East for Acquired Brain Injury Ireland. Janine also has experience of designing and delivering mental health and wellness programs across a variety of settings.

 

As a therapist, Janine adopts a trauma-informed, psychodynamic approach to her work. She also has experience and training in other therapeutic approaches including CBT, Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.

Janine has practiced yoga for 16 years and is a qualified Yoga teacher (RYT200). She is an advocate for the importance of the mind-body connection and the benefits of movement, breath work and mindfulness / meditation for mental well-being.

 

As part of her dedication to her own personal and professional development, Janine regularly attends personal Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. She also engages in professional supervision with an experienced psychoanalytic Clinical Psychologist.
